Volunteers going through the County fire school experience many types of live-fire exercises: fires in the controlled setting of the Fire & Rescue Academy's burn building, fires in donated structures, and fires in donated vehicles.

Abandoned houses are often donated for practice fires to keep firefighters well-trained. The pictures below are from an exercise held in September 1999 during B shift.
